Through Likaa el Ared we promote sustainability and offer education and connection with nature and traditions, while producing good quality food.
We aim to be a sustainability reference place in Lebanon fostering a economic model based in collaboration and respect.
Permaculture
We draw inspiration from permaculture, grounded in ethical principles that include caring for both people and the earth.
Our aim is to design an agroecosystem that is sustainable in the long term, capable of adapting and recovering, utilizing available resources efficiently while minimizing waste.
We promote diversity in plants, animals, and elements to enhance stability and resilience.
Impact
Ecology
We contribute to a resilient food supply system, based in local regenerative farms. This mitigates climate change, regenerating soil humus and sequester CO2, and reducing food mileage or the distance from farm to table.
Job creation
As a local regenerative farm, we also foster local economic and cultural ties, enhancing the community’s resilience amid crises beyond its control.
Permaculture emphasizes low-energy processes, promoting the power of creativity and human collaboration in working the land. Likaa el Ared supports the employability and economic empowerment of local people, both men and women.
Education
Likaa el Ared is a space for education for sustainability, where regenerative practices are experimented and shared.
